I did the posters for the art show last night and I think they turned out splendid. This is work:

casafront
(actually, just a small section the store front, we're huge)

casamail
Everything makes more sense in cartoon form.

If you wanna see a bigger version, it's here
.

I think I bought a house today. Really cute place, completely renovated into cubbies and sliding ladders with a lot of woodwork and pink tiles. I'm sure you'll be hearing too much about it over the next couple weeks.

Worked my ass off today. You wanted the best you got the best, the hottest kitchen int the land. . . ANd of course, for a change, I'm gonna make some puppets now.

Inpuppetus

Stretch into your black rubber gloves and strap-on your best, ruffled neck brace.

wit1

Dainty buttons and even daintier nipples. I guess maybe my nipples could be like flowers if they smelled nice and blossomed to the sun. The fuzzy felt tummies always remind me of MIA stuffed friends from childhood.

wit2

I don't know, maybe tonight I'll make some puppets? I think I have an itchy thimble finger.

wit3

Only three little headless fingermen left in my Bucket of Head. Did I mention this guy was still missing a couple eyes. It's cause I'm lazy.

A Fear-Induced Porridge

redsketch

The work for the show is coming together nicely (the show opens April 1st). Hopefully I'll be posting new stuff everyday as it is finished. Down to the wire as they say (a little too literal in this case).

I know I've said it a million times before, but "I don't quite know how this one turned into the devil". He's practically done. He needs his head sewn on tighter, a knot for his tie stitched under his collar and his tie-pin tacked on.

red1

Can't you almost picture him swaggering through the land of Make-Believe, green eyes a-glitter*, walking over the trolley tracks and leaning into the window of Henrietta Pussycat's treehouse so he can watch her clean herself.

red2

There are four more bodies to make for finished heads.

. . . and then there is the three-legged, three-armed, three-headed twins that are birthing a little crotch buddy (that one might not be done for the show. If it is, I'll be finishing-up the day of the show and hair-drying the paint job and swearing a lot).

twinster2

His body is just about done (the wire scuplt and taping, that is). Producing the form that the clay gets sculpted onto is the bulk of the work. After that it's only a matter of giving him skin and coloring it. It's sit's under the table looking like this:

*His eyes are made from the metallic green foil of a holiday candy.

Under the Influence of Plush

As soon as I can finish the Siamese-Birthing Doll I get to start sewing the bodies for the hand puppets, so I've been looking at a lot of plush artists.

His cabin was getting feverish.

snow1

Wakefullness was not permitted. He thought maybe it had something to do with hats.

snow3

He imagined the doormat was a giant steel grate that opened inward to reveal a deep warmness.
